London-based network services specialist Colt’s announcement this week of its Fastnet Ultra low-latency connectivity for trading firms formalises its solutions for the high-performance space, most visibly implemented to date by Nomura last autumn.

Interactive Data’s agreement to acquire Chicago-based high performance trading infrastructure specialist 7ticks LLC marks a strategic initiative to take advantage of what the company sees as perhaps an 18-month window of low latency investment opportunity. The acquisition gives a much-needed boost to Interactive Data’s low latency delivery strategy.

Citigroup has deployed low-latency messaging middleware from Real-Time Innovations (RTI) in support of its global equities trading business. RTI officials confirm a new major deployment of its product at a "flagship" customer but decline to name it as Citigroup. Initial rollout is in Manhattan and in Carteret, NJ.

7ticks, a leading provider of low-latency managed services for the financial trading sector, today announced it will leverage trading performance hardware vendor, Endace. 7ticks will now be able to measure market data trade latency with 100% packet capture accuracy using software solutions from the recently formed alliance with Correlix and Race Team.

NYSE Arca, NYSE Euronext’s all-electronic U.S equities exchange and already one of the fastest equities markets, is further speeding up its order execution time with the implementation of the company’s Universal Trading Platform. NYSE Arca customers are experiencing roundtrip executions of 650 microseconds for Nasdaq-listed issues, and 950 microseconds for NYSE- and NYSE Arca-listed issues, which generally have deeper books and more orders.

NYSE Technologies, the commercial technology unit of NYSE Euronext (NYX), today announced the successful launch of enhancements to its super-low latency market data platform specifically designed for the Tokyo Stock Exchange's new Arrowhead trading platform. As the new equities trading system for the Tokyo market, Arrowhead has been implemented to support increased trading volumes and the performance demands of ultra-fast electronic trading strategies. The new market technology offers new and enhanced data feeds to the industry and NYSE Technologies has successfully launched support for these new feeds on its high performance market data platform.

Solace Systems today announced a partnership with German-based BCC Group, a software development company focusing on the financial services sector. BCC has selected Solace’s Unified Messaging Platform (UMP) to deliver real-time market data to its Market Data Factory suite of products, which serve as an abstraction layer between data sources and a multitude of end applications. Through this agreement, BCC will resell Solace products in Europe as part of a joint solution.
