RDMA

Remote Direct Memory Access (RDMA) is a communications technique across a local area network where data can be transferred from the user memory of a process in one server, to the user memory of a process in another, without the intervention of either servers' CPU or operating systems. Only certain NICs have been designed to support RDMA.
