The NASDAQ OMX Group, today announced the company will combine its Global Data Products and Global Index businesses. The combination will enable greater customer focus and leverage of NASDAQ OMX's scalable technology, product innovation and robust distribution channels. The new business will be led by John L. Jacobs, Executive Vice President of NASDAQ OMX, and operate under the name Global Information Services.

The new offering, which takes Canadian listings from the US, is a highly optimized, FPGA accelerated, arbitrated broadcast feed. With approximately 40% of trading volumes from Canadian companies trading on US stock exchanges, access to US listed company data is essential for a comprehensive view of the Canadian securities market.

SIX Financial Information and Squawker, the negotiation venue for sell-side block trading, today announced the signing of a new partnership. According to the agreement, SIX Financial Information will supply Squawker with real-time, pan-European market data via its flagship product Market Data Feed (MDF) allowing Squawker participants to execute pan-European block trades always at consolidated mid-price and consolidated VWAP.

Russell Indexes, a leading global index provider and NYSE Euronext, one of the world’s premier exchange operators and technology innovators, today announced a global alliance which will span three distinct NYSE Euronext business lines and multiple geographies, as well as several facets of Russell’s global index business. The agreement includes the transition of RussellTick, an index feed for real-time, intra-day values for the Russell family of indexes in the U.S. and globally, to NYSE Technologies’ Global Index Feed (GIF) protocol and extensive global distribution. Approximately $3.9 trillion in assets are currently benchmarked to the Russell Indexes globally. The alliance also includes a commitment to develop additional joint global services and products, such as new index-based options.

SpryWare, a premier provider of Ultra Low Latency feed handlers and direct market data technology, today announced the latest performance assessment of their Direct Market Server, DMS, its flagship Ticker Plant software technology. The Nasdaq Stock Market plans to distribute its data feeds via a low-latency wireless service, and to offer wireless-delivered data to trading firms located at its Carteret, NJ co-location facility. Those plans are outlined in a filing that the exchange is required to make with the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) relating to establishing fees for the services it plans to introduce.
