Presented by Spencer Greene, CTO, Financial Services and Exchanges, TIBCO Software.

The drive to lower the latency of trade executions has forced matching venues to search for non-traditional solutions. The advent of the server in the switch technologies like TIBCO's FTL Messaging Switch has given execution facilities a brand new tool in this never-ending battle. This presentation will focus on forward looking trading architectures that re-locate the matching engine, order gateways and even broker dealers inside the switch using shared memory for communication. Also covered will be the implications of such a radical switch - not just for exchanges and their customers, but also regulators and even market structure.

For extreme low latency, code paths are highly critical, and optimizing them can have a massive impact on application stability and design. The TIBCO FTL® messaging platform draws on more than 20 years of industry-leading experience in mission-critical, high-performance messaging and takes full advantage of today’s technologies. With the recent addition of the TIBCO FTL® Message Switch, messaging middleware is combined with high-performance networking to boost speeds even more. The switch deploys your custom-built extreme low-latency messaging applications directly onto the networking path, removing additional network hops and further reducing end-to-end latency. In this session, learn how organizations are gaining performance and lowering latencies with greater reliability using TIBCO FTL, it's new Guaranteed Delivery services, and the TIBCO FTL Message Switch.
